Cheng in the Cobra, plus the Allard have awesome power and will leave us in their dust, the Tiger is also very fast and will leave us behind. However, I reckon we should be able to hang onto the shirt-tails of maybe the Ascar V8, and probably vie for position with the Dodge Challenger and the Camaro, which puts us midfield.

I imagine the Hornet will be hard to keep up with since the upgrades. (Untill the black country ballast is installed) Laughing Laughing

We are using the full width sports screen and open top instead of the race screen and tonneau to slow the car down a bit and give you a chance to keep up with us tongue

On a serious note can you remind me on how the pit stop works as I have never done a pit stop race before. Is it just a case of come in after a certain number of laps, keep to the pit lane speed limit. Stop outside your garage? For 30 seconds? Keep engine running? Then back to the track?

Is that it?

For you Ed the pit stop will comprise of you coming to the pits bringing the car to a complete stop. Removing your helmet checking your make up and giving the car a quick polish and then straight back out on track again but don't forget that the finals say you must pull off in fifth gear.

I have no idea how the pit stop works im just assuming that Old man Fletcher will just keep shouting at me until he gets the desired response.

It could be Billy don't worry I will clean it on the steering wheel.

Incidentally could you rig up an oil can to spray my boots with oil whilst im driving the Horneto as it will feel just like old times.

.......................................................................... Actually if I remember correctly at Snetterton the Horneto is still quite proficient at spraying oil everywhere lol!

Hi Ed

Look in the roadsports regs for the pit stop procedure. Basically, there is a pit stop window when you must pit. You then stop (probably best to stop at the AFRC garages) for 1 minute, then off you go again. You can keep your engine running.

The Silverstone race went very well, though the Mk2 Hornet still has some gremlins that need sorting out Mad

It was good to share the car with Ian, and hopefully we can do the same at Cadwell in June. However, as the race will be an AFRC grid, I will wait till near the closing date to see how many enter.

Going to Stoneleigh made a full weekend of it, though Gillie had to hide in the toilet to keep the entry cost down to a reasonable level Rolling Eyes Managed to get a replacement battery at a discounted show price plus a few other bits at good prices. When I got into kit cars in the late 70's there were lots of youngsters involved, but it was noticeable at Stoneleigh that most of the people with kit cars were quite old, which was a bit disappointing and made me feel a bit of a sad old twat. Lots of beer and wine with Ed and Zoe helped cheer me up though Cool

Really looking forward to France now Very Happy
