Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
Hi Ed
You will see from the timetable we are the first practice session, and there is also a note to say you can sign on from 4 to 6 on the Friday if you want. Consequently, I am going to try and make it there about 6, but might not be there till a bit later.
I will be in the Mk4 as the engine is still out of the Mk2.

Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
Well I'm up against a Tiger RS6 of stu Fenton, you take the p1$$ out of me for what I spend on my car (it's not as much as you think) but his engine will be more than my motorhome is worth, giving him 80bhp more so it will be fun trying to keep up.
Billy how do you fancy your chances of beating the GT3 in your moped powered creation?

Not a chance!
He's doing 1:01.5 laps in that Porsche.
Looking to have a good scrap with the Silouette Tigra, and maybe a couple of the Crossles.

Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
Hi Ian
Not sure off-hand, but I have never got to grips with the GP circuit in the Mk4 as it hits the rev limiter in top just as you go under the bridge along Hanger Straight, from that point on you have to ease on the throttle to hold it just below max revs.
With regards the National circuit it has once done a high 1:05 but generally does very low 1:06's.
Hows your engine looking?

Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
I reckon we are going to have a good race
I filtered the oil this morning and it all looks good the bits I saw in the oil were paint flakes that must have been in the oil drainer already
I still have no turbo though

Good to hear they were not white-metal
Those flakes probably got dislodged when you bumped that yellow car driven by that old git at Donington

Looks like it will be me and John fighting for honours for last place then.
Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
I bet JD would not be such a defeatist Edwardo.

Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
I don't care where I finish as long as I have a battle and learn something, not defeatist at all just an observation, i will try my best to beat the BMWs and if there is any chance of passing something with a Ford badge on it I'm all over it
Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
No worries there Edward its less than 36 hours to the race and I still havent heard the bugger run racing has taught me that fate nevers favours the brave so I suspect I will brake down on the exit of copse

Re: race at silverstone 6 septemebr
That reminded me of a Scottish comedian who said about all the sports direct stores in Glasgow running out of baseball bats, but they still had plenty of balls left.
Made me chuckle
