MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
I sent an e-mail to MSVR a couple of weeks ago to see it they had any idea of dates for any allcomers races in 2015, and I have just had this reply:
Hi Ian
It’s good to hear from you. The season is getting there for us, slowly but surely thank you. As I think was discussed with you previously, we are looking to make the MSVR All-Comers races into more of a structured category this year, we are designing a logo for this amongst other things. Dates are almost complete for release and I would envisage this being in the next week. As soon as they are ready we will be in touch.
From the above, it looks as if its going to be more structured than last season, and I hope this doesn't mean membership fees etc or an increased rate for the entry fee. As soon as I have further info and hopefully dates, I will post the info on the forum.

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Great to see the release of the entry form for the first MSVR race. Even better to see they have resisted the temptation to change the format and to increase the entry fee. Two races on the 300 circuit for £250 is great value for money, lets hope the grids are as big as last season
My entry is going in today.

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
The event will be Lotus based:
Lotus Raceday
Snetterton 300
Saturday 04 April 2015
Local sports car manufacturer Lotus will star this weekend, with three one-make classes for the Norfolk marque in action.
The Lotus Cup UK is the country's premier Lotus-endorsed racing championship and features race-prepared examples of Elises, Exiges and other Lotus variants. The entry level Elise Trophy is in action too with a full grid.
The Lotus Sprint Championship offers an ideal first step into the world of competitive motorsport. Lotus Cup UK stars of the future will attempt to set the fastest time in this against-the-clock series.
The line-up is completed by MSVT's mini-enduro Team Trophy Series.
..............and of course the allcomers races.
On the Friday, it is general testing, and on the Sunday, it is a bike trackday. Consequently, we may be able to stay for a couple of days and make the most of it

In true High Speed Low Cost tradition, I scanned and emailed it. It saved the cost of a stamp

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Me too
Still not confirmed which car I will be taking, but more than likely will be the Mk2 as I need to make sure it will be ok for the AFRC race at Silverstone in May.
Last time the Mk2 was out at Snetterton in November (2 practices and four races) it was leaking oil (suspect rear crank seal and/or front crank seal, and sump gasket, and or possibly somewhere from oil pump), plus it was getting difficult to start (suspect alternator belt slipping due to oil on it and flexing mounting bracket, and/or failing battery - ex Tornado item and I have had it for at least 10 years!).
Anyhow have changed the sump gasket and checked both crank seals, which appear to be ok, as is oil pump gasket. Still have a slight leak (not sure how bad it will be in a race) which appears to be from where the sump bridges the joint between the oil pump housing and the block. These are not flush and I believe the sump gasket is not sealing at this step. This has been cleaned with thinners now and a bead of PRC sealant applied, so hope the leak is now cured. Have also increased the size of the pipe and hose from the oil collector/breather to the catch tank in case it was the crank seals being blown by at high revs.
Have redesigned and am making a new bracket, plus have bought a new battery, but it is a smaller one, but as recommended for Zetecs and Duratecs (Red Top 15).
Consequently, still got lots that need checking out on the Mk2. Last thing I want at Silverstone is it leaving drips of oil in the pit lane during the pit-stop and then being black and oranged!
Ed, are you coming out to play for this one?

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
I am going to have to say no to this as my back is playing up at the mo. So im gutted. If I don't rest up I will be knackered for France As if it gets really bad it can take months to sort itself out.
Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Sorry to hear that Ed, hope you have a speedy recovery.
That will give you plenty of time to sort your new diff out though

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Not been to Cadwell for a few years, so despite it only being a couple of weeks after Snetterton, think l I will enter this as well
Will see how Snetterton goes, then hand in my entry form there.

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Currently 12 cars entered for Snetterton, but they expect more entries over the next couple of days. Tickets etc should be in the post either this evening or tomorrow. Dave Willey will be our contact at the circuit and we probably wont be allowed in the paddock till 1800 on Friday.

Finals, paddock plan, etc here:
http://www.msvracing.co.uk/cars/calendar/2015.aspx?c=1366&s=0&d=2015-4-4&inf=5369
Can gain entry to the paddock from 1700 on Friday, and we down by race control.

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Have fun out there and be safe, don't think I will be over to watch but you never know.
Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Silverstone might be tempting, can't think of anyone who would be the other half so I will have to see if I can afford to beat both Billy and Ian at the same time.

Re: MSVR ALLCOMERS RACES 2015
Looking on TSL, it looks like the allcomers race for Cadwell at the weekend did not take place, its was not on the timetable either. I sent them an email last week saying that two allcomers races in a month was too much for our group as we budget for one a month.
