2015 SEASON SPRINTS
I have been talking to Richard Wakeling who is an organiser with the Minicross Drivers Association (MDA). They have been organising sprints at Blyton for a couple of years, and these have developed into really good "clubbie" events. They are MSA events however, so competitors need MSA licences and MSA compliant cars.
Generally sprints are about a half to one mile long, and you get 3 or 4 runs. The MDA uses a cut-through at Blyton, so you get to run 2 laps per run, making the track 2.7 miles long. They are also very efficient at controlling this and consequently get about 5 runs per driver at each event, and more if theres no problems.
Entry fees are £120 and they hope to maintain that fee for 2015. camping is available the night before, but the venue may charge £10 for this.
Dates for 2015 are:
19 April
17 May
9 August
13 September
I am looking at having the April sprint as the 2015 season opener, is anyone else interested?
I think these could be good events for the 16V Mini guys, and they could do as many of the events as they want. They would also be in good company with the Mini Rallycross drivers. Paul W, if your interested and need the contact details for Richard, let me know and I will send you his e-mail address.
