Good value helmets
Probably like some of you ive had to purchase a new helmet for this season as my perfectly good OMP certification has expired. I purchased one if these last night and they look excellent value for money

Re: Good value helmets
No but ive just had a chat with the MSA I have been told by the tech department that because its approved to SAH2010 It does not need the white sticker SAH2010 helmets can have the posts retrofitted by the user. If it was only approved to SA2010 it would need the white sticker and would need to be returned back to the manufacturer for posts to be fitted the approval is in the H.i have ordred the posts off them for an additional £46 and will fit them myself (the thread is already set into the carbon fibre)

Re: Good value helmets
Although it has not been advertised yet, I believe from the manufacturer of the V2 range of helmets that an SAH stickered helmet will be available from them sometime in March. It should be £199 without the posts, but posts can be supplied with the helmet for fitting by the user. This is a re-design of the current helmet, but will look very similar to the previous design.

Hi Ed
From talking to the manufacturer, it is a re-design of that helmet, and it now has the SAH sticker. He said what you have done is fine for MSA events for the time being, but if you want to enter an FIA event, it will need the SAH sticker.

Re: Good value helmets
Bugger, can't afford a new helmet, will they really check for an SAH sticker (think I already know the answer to that one!) ,it has the SA 2010 SNELL sticker and the "MSA approved for motorsport" sticker
Re: Good value helmets
Still don't want to buy a new helmet, Billy any news from V2 as they seem the best value
Re: Good value helmets
Check St Goueno regs. Masters is run to British regs. Hans not required for historic cars or roadgoing.

Re: Good value helmets
I am even more confused my car is not old and deffo not standard production so I need a hans. But as I read the regs for the masters are only to msa not fia standards. I have raced with my helmet with self mounted Hans clips for over a year and no probs with the scrutineers so I still think I am ok?
Re: Good value helmets
If in doubt matey check with the MSA or ask John Lloyd

Re: Good value helmets
Just had this reply from John, so I think I'm fine. Happy days.
"As long as your car and safety equipment complies with either UK or Irish hillclimb requirements then you will be fine."

Re: Good value helmets
Ok the real reason is that if it turns out to be a wet race (possible at that time of year), I can't face being overtaken by a bloke sporting a snazzy new helmet in a car that looks to small for him
Re: Good value helmets
Has Billy had a new helmet then ???
