New racer here

Post by Tom2741 on Sun Oct 12, 2014 10:55 am

Hi all,

My names Tom , I found my way here by an email sent out to all of the British Army Racing Team and this his leads me onto what I've done, what car I've got etc.

At the end of last year I discovered that the army had a sports car racing team. At around the same time my car, an Evo 6 Tommi Makinen Edition, had bent a rod so required a rebuild. Instead of just the engine rebuild , I decided to turn it into a racing car.

Unfortunately my racing cv hasent grown to the extent I hoped due to a problem leading to my imminent discharge from the army. I hope to race as a vet associate next year though and hopefully a few rounds of the low cost.

I'm half looking at the possibility of changing my car to something a little less highly strung but unless I get a good offer it will continue to be developed over next year.

Look forward to chatting to a few of you soon.

Tom

Nice one Tom ! Quick cars them Evos ! If you already have a car thats a know quantity to you then you would be probably best sticking with it. Ive had a few second hand race cars now and to some degree they all need some fettling to suit yourself. Any advice or support needed there is a wealth of info from the folks on here.

Yeah the old Evos are fairly nippy. 1st race meet with new suspension and rear diff probs still saw me setting fastest laps!

It's just bloody expensive to fix, when it inevitably goes wrong !
